Youth/Anti-Aging.  In western culture, much of our focus is outward. Collectively we spend billions of dollars on weight loss programs, hair styling

products, clothing, fitness and a myriad other things. All  to improve the outer package, keep us looking if not youthful, at least, not our age.  In and of themselves, they all have their benefits. And yet….

There does come a point when we may find that even with all those efforts, something is missing. It’s hard to put our finger on it and yet the sparkle and enjoyment  in the world has faded. Often, we fear we are fading too.

What is it exactly that these efforts are to do, to inspire? What is it that we are trying to achieve or hang on to? The exterior does change with time and depending on the lives we have lived, and the circumstances faced, it may change a little or a lot. Many of us, our culture in fact, suggests that the best life is  from our youth. Not just our looks but our futures stretching out with possibility and the unknown.

Recreate Your Youth By Seeking The Unknown

If you are in your 50’s, 60’s or beyond, the outside might not quite match those feelings. We may have spent a lot of time looking after the exterior and yet are yearning for a time when the world was largely unknown. It was unknown and we were untested. There was some excitement with that, wasn’t there? A world of discovery and of creation. There was so much we didn’t know, but rather than holding us back, we moved toward it. We moved forward with the sense if we didn’t know, we could learn.

Fast forward to your now. Are you learning? What is the last thing that you learned? Really. Something that was brand new and out of your realm of experience and knowledge? If you are looking to regain that edge, that sparkle, try taking on something brand new. Something that requires a different part of you to show up.

What is the true fountain of youth? Learning. Keep learning. Something new or something you want to take to a deeper level. Push yourself. Every time you do, prepare for a new sparkle in your eye and a new opportunity to connect with yourself, the world and the people in it.
